chuggin along

Things are pretty status quo around SKP.  Proofing like a mad woman so all you wonderful clients can have your images and cards in time for Christmas :)  I’m getting closer to being done with this gorgeous family’s gallery, so wanted to post another teaser for them while they’re waiting for the full unveiling :)

Happy Tuesday!

PSA

A few bits of news/updates to share.  First off..

Pricing:  SKP is restructuring our pricing for 2009.  The new Creative Session Fee, as well as new Collections (Newborn Session, First Year Session, etc) fees are effective immediately.  A new print pricing structure will be released January of 2009.

Timeline:  If you have had/have a session with SKP this year, proofing is running about 3 weeks out from your session date.  Orders can be expected 3-4 weeks after your order is placed and payment is received.  This is a bit longer than usual due to the high volume season.  I appreciate your patience as I strive to give everyone’s images the attention to detail that they deserve :)

Lastly, some good news! I have a wonderful assistant helping me now who is working to make my life a bit easier :)  Katie will be checking, packaging and delivering your orders.  She has a great eye and has already helped ease some of the work for me - thank you, Katie!  If you are waiting on an order, you will most likely be meeting her in the near future.

cause i just can’t help myself…

I HAD to post another one of this lil baby in her cute hat :)

I’m telling you, if you scroll down and see this photo, you WILL get baby fever.  She is just SO sweet!  Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Oh, that sweet face, fuzzy arm hair, teeny chin…makes me want another one right now :)

We’re off to a carnival at our church - perfect thing to do on a rainy, dreary evening.  Our good friend happens to be one of our pastors and is sitting in the dunk tank…looks like we may be buying lots of tickets tonight :)  Have a cozy weekend!

worth the wait

This session was rescheduled 3 times due to various factors outside of the family’s and my control.  Mom & I actually joked that it was like we were jinxed to have this session!  I was determined to make it happen, especially since I went to junior high with this lil one’s momma.  I haven’t seen her in years upon years, but I finally got to meet her sweet little girl this week.  She is a “mini-me” of her momma - a gorgeous little blondie :)  Our daughters even share the same name (how neat is that?).  We spent about 30 minutes quickly shooting outside since it was a chilly morning, but we got some beautiful images that I cant wait to show mom.

Special thanks to the grandma for meeting me at the park with little C.  It was great seeing you again after all these years :)

T & J - Enjoy the peek!  The session was definitely worth the wait :)

I had the pleasure of meeting the sweetest family this past weekend!  I couldn’t believe what dolls these kids were…and their parents were so great to work with.  I think this mom should be my new stylist for my sessions…she did such a great job tying together colors for everyone’s outfits, yet letting them all wear their own individual style.  Loved it!  Here’s a sneak peek for the K family.

This was the K family’s first time having professional photos - so I was so glad we took the time to get some family shots they wanted.

Dear K family - It was so nice meeting you!  I truly loved every minute I spent with your darling family.  Enjoy this little peek!

things have been busy around skp the last month!  our first round of fall sessions was in september, with a few newborns and child sessions thrown in there, too.  i havent been as prompt as i like in returning emails due to my efforts going towards proofing 24/7.  i felt like it was only fair to post a smattering of photos from the last month to show what i’ve been up to… :)

this being my busiest season of the year, please allow 48 hours for email replies.  i wish i could be quicker, but being a one-woman show, it’s just not possible!  i SO appreciate your patience and understanding :)

hugs!

tricky, tricky

is what this lil peanut was!  she certainly gave me a run for my money this past week!  in the 15 (?…not sure, I’ve lost count!) newborns I’ve done in the past year, she is the first to not cave to all my sleepy baby techniques.  usually i have the parents oohing and aahing over the way i induce their baby into a happy coma while i photograph them (i can’t reveal my secrets, sorry!)  :) …so i think this lil girl decided it was time to humble me :)  in the 5 hours total i spent with her, i think she cooperated for a combined 30 minutes!  (is that right, mom & dad?)  she was a little stinker!  mom says she just liked me so much she wanted to stay awake and look at me :)  at any rate, we got some amazing images in those 30 minutes, and i had to post one of my faves as a peek for her patient parents!  this hat was a gift to them (I LOVE it when my clients want to use their own items for their newborn sessions) - and the minute i saw it, i knew we had to use it!

thanks r & r for letting me crash at your place for SO long (and multiple days!) to get these images!  i promise it will be worth it when you see your full gallery!  you guys are awesome, plain and simple.

p.s.  thanks for the milkshake :)

jeepers creepers

…take a look at these peepers!  :)  after planning and talking for 9 months, i finally got to meet this lil sweetie!  i could not get over this lil girl’s amazing eyes - quite possibly the most beautiful i’ve ever seen!  i told my husband afterwards what a sweet family this was - it was like hanging out with old friends.  they were so relaxed and came ready to have fun - which makes SUCH a difference in how the session plays out.

thanks you g&j for making the drive to bloomington…i had so much fun chatting with both of you!  now for a quick sneak image to tide you over (i promise, there are lots more - you are going to LOVE them) :)

*cough cough*

that’s about all you’ll hear coming from me lately.  i somehow got an awful cold in the last 24 hrs and it’s hitting me hard.  while i have had to move a few sessions to accomadate, rest assured i am still working night and day on your galleries and orders.

i wanted to post a couple more from one of my fall sessions.  this lil girl was SO sweet and plain adorable!  i loved listening to her talk…such a fun age :)  i can usually tell how the flow of the session is going to go by the dynamics between the family - and these guys definitely knew how to have fun!  you could tell this lil one is not hurting for love :)

winner announced

I have to say, I’m a little bummed with the amount of entries for this last contest.  I’m sure it’s just that everyone is super busy, or maybe noone is hanging those gorgeous prints they are buying (lets hope that’s not it!) :) …but the contest pool was pretty small.   I hope you are all enjoying the various contests/giveaways, because I would love to continue doing them on a regular basis.  My goal is of course to keep the blog interesting & fun…so let me know what you’d like to see and what you don’t  :)

However, the entries i did receive - these moms went all out!  Multiple pictures,  and some of the moms even managed to get TWO subjects in one image (including themselves) - way to use that tripod, Mommas!  It was fun to get a glimpse into your homes and see your cute lil ones sitting next to their prints.  Make me miss them!  :)

Because the entry pool was smaller and therefore I didn’t get to add on the matching set of stickers, I decided to draw TWO names for the personalized note cards…so here they are!

SARA C!

&

TARA G!

I just noticed their names ryhme - how funny :)  Congrats, girlies!  Shoot me an email for instructions on how to claim your prize!  You are going to love the notecards - they are adorable!!

I have lots more ideas for contests this year…including a huge Christmas giveaway- so show me some love and hopefully we can still do those :)
