just a teensy bit more | Illinois Child Photographer

I’ve been staying up until crazy hours the last few nights, because I just can’t stop proofing my last session from the loft.  I blogged the sneak peek here, and ever since I’ve been sneaking downstairs at night to edit just.one.more.  :)  So many gorgeous images, and I cannot wait to share them with this sweet family!  Here’s one I discovered a few minutes ago that I absolutely love.  Little 3 year old D was not feeling me & my camera after over an hour of shooting, so he took a break with his dad while I turned my attention to his baby sister.  While in the middle of that, I see him wrestling with his dad out of the corner of my eye.   I quickly snuck over and started shooting, and I’m so glad I did.  That’s what I love about lifestyle sessions - little ones are free to play and do what comes naturally…like this:

R & K - I’ll have the rest to you shortly.  Start stocking up on kleenex now :)

out of service.

Fyi - I lost my  Blackberry today, and am afraid at this point that it’s been stolen :(  I’ve disconnected the service for security reasons.  For now, the best (and only) way to get ahold of me is by email.  I am trying my best to return all emails within 48 hours…thanks for your patience :)

better late than never | Illinois Baby & Children’s Photographer

I was orginally scheduled to photograph this little girl as a fresh newborn back in late April.  Due to some complications towards the end of my pregnancy, we had to push it off a bit.  I was so excited to finally meet this little one, who is now about to turn 3 months old.  It was definitely worth the wait!

25 comments from friends/family = a 5×7 on me :)

My goal at this session was to get some intimate interactions between her and her parents since we missed out on those as a newborn.  I just love this series of her and her daddy.

I loved watching her momma rock her to sleep, singing softly in her ear.  These are the moments that are etched in our minds forever as mommas.  Such fleeting, sweet moments.

Of course, we can’t forget big brother :)  He warmed up to me right away, and we had a blast playing cars together.  He’s going to be smooth with the ladies someday ;)

R & K - Thanks for meeting me at the loft today!  Enjoy your peek!

Note:  If you are interested in a loft session, shoot me an email.  I still have a few spots open.  If your session is already on the books, just let me know that you’d like to meet at the loft and we’ll make it happen!

the kids.

I haven’t posted much of our everyday photos in awhile, so here you go :)

First up, Clive had his first getaway with just Matt & I this week.  Matt had to travel to Chicago for work, so Clive & I tagged along while Charlotte had her first sleepover at Gma & Papa’s house :)

Had some fun in the hotel room with Clive:

Next up:  Charlotte had a huge “first” this week - she drew her first face!  She was SO proud of it.  She ran into the room and proceeded to point out the eyes, nose, and mouth.  Do you see it?  :)  I’m so glad I had my camera right beside me at the time so I could document this.

So there’s a little wrap up of our week :)  Tomorrow is my first session at the loft, and I’m SO pumped!  I’ll be posting a sneak peek from that session in the next day or two.

Don’t forget about the Fall Special.  VERY limited openings left!  September is almost full and October is well on its way.  If you want Christmas card images, this is your last chance :)

Fall Sessions! | Illinois Children’s Photographer

Yep, my annual fall package has been released!  This year, I’m so excited because it’s my first year to include digital files with the package!  Here’s how it works:  You pick any 3 images from your session to be placed on a CD in high resolution.  You’ll be able to use the images however you wish - make your own Christmas cards, gift prints for grandparents, scrapbooking, blow them up huge - again, however you wish!  This is an incredible value, and just a peek at things to come for 2010 (yes, I’m already planning for next year)  :)

Take a look at what else the package includes, and shoot me an email to book!  This special expires on September 1st, and if you book by August 1st, you’ll also received 10% off all additional prints/products!

I’m ordering my samples now of the brag books & storyboards, so I’ll be posting pictures of those soon to whet your appetite :)

A very limited of spots are open for this special, so book early!

birthday girl | Illinois Children’s Photographer

Yesterday my sweet baby girl turned three.  I remember when “three” sounded so grown up :).  When it seemed forever away.  I remember a time when I couldn’t even imagine what she would be like as a giggling, bouncing, running, jumping, singing, chatting, three year old with baby dolls to hold.  Yet somewhere along the way I blinked and here she is.  It seems as if I closed my eyes for a moment, and she went from my 5# sack of sugar to a 30# little girl.  As I write this, I can hear her on the deck reading books to the birds in the trees.  Her sweet little voice mixing with robin songs.  And I tell myself - I can’t even imagine what she will be like as a loving, nurturing, driving, all grown-up woman with babies of her own.  Yet somwhere along the way I will blink again and she will be.  So I try to soak in every minute of this phase of life.  t’s wild, it’s busy, and yes, it’s stressful.  But someday - sooner than I realize- I will wish with all my heart that I could relive just one. more. day - just like yesterday.

Her third birthday.

P.S. She’s wearing a dress that was mine when I was three :)

melt | Illinois Children’s Photographer

We got caught in the rain halfway through this session, but noone melted & we got some gorgeous images nonetheless :)  This is my fifth time photographing this little lady - and she’s only 1!  Her momma has become a dear friend over the last year, and I look forward to each session.  This little girl is such a doll baby!

Thank you, Kelly for sharing your precious Halle with me!

best birthday present. ever| Illinois Newborn Photographer

This year, I got THE best birthday present - a dear friend of mine welcomed her third son into this world :)  Today I got the chance to meet him and snapped a few photos while I was there.  He is SO sweet and beautiful!  Is it okay to say a baby boy is beautiful?  Because he is :)  And the eye contact?  Unbelievable for a newborn.

Isn’t he just breathtaking?
